Why I'm No Longer Delivering Sneak Peeks Within 72 Hours

Nikki doyle photography, northern virginia family, maternity, & Newborn photographer

As a photographer, my goal is always to deliver timeless, heartfelt images that my clients will cherish for years to come. For a long time, I included sneak peeks within 72 hours of each session. It was a way to share the excitement and give a quick preview of the beautiful moments we captured.

But over time, I’ve realized that rushing to share sneak peeks right away doesn’t align with the creative process I value—or the experience I want to provide to families across Northern Virginia, Loudoun County, and Fairfax County.

It Disrupts My Creative Workflow

After a session, I need time and space to thoughtfully review and edit your photos. I love coming back to your gallery with fresh eyes—making adjustments, perfecting tones, and curating the best story through images. Delivering sneak peeks within 72 hours often forces me to break that creative rhythm, and I’ve found it impacts the quality and consistency of my editing.

Rushing Sneak Peeks Adds Pressure

Choosing the best images (known as culling) is one of the most important parts of my work. When I feel rushed to deliver previews quickly, I might miss some of the small, meaningful moments that deserve a closer look. My priority as a Northern Virginia photographer is to ensure every final gallery reflects the beauty, connection, and emotion of your session—and that takes time and care.

I Believe in Quality Over Speed

Your family photos, maternity portraits, or newborn photography session should be nothing short of magical. I want to take the time to polish and perfect each image so you receive a gallery that feels intentional, cohesive, and true to my artistic vision. While it’s always exciting to see a sneak peek, I believe the full gallery is where the real magic lives.

What You Can Expect Instead

Moving forward, I’ll be focusing on delivering your full gallery within the promised turnaround time—without the added pressure of sneak peeks. This shift will allow me to give every session the time and attention it deserves, whether it’s a cozy in-home newborn session in Ashburn, or a golden hour family session in Leesburg or Reston.

Thank you for trusting me to capture your most important moments. This small change allows me to better serve my wonderful clients throughout Northern Virginia—with more creativity, more intention, and even more heart.

With gratitude,

Nikki
